FHS Senior Class of 1944
World War II had many adverse impacts on small communities like Fairmont. One of them was that many boys who grew up on the farm enlisted in the military as soon as they could convince their parents to sign for them. By graduation time in 1944 the senior class at Fairmont High School had 28 members -- 22 girls and only 6 boys. Many boys had joined up early.
Shown here is the photo of the Class of 1944. I have only been able to identify three class members and the two mascots. The class members are Jane Huffines (Page), Broadus Littlefield, Jr. and Bobby Frank Floyd. Mascots are Jean Carter Loftis and Pat Floyd.
